I am probably jumping to conclusions a bit here but, a ten year gap between the first and second child could mean a couple of things – the first being that some children either miscarried or died at birth between 1836 and 1846. Another thing could be that Michael married twice …. and then again, the truth is I don’t know as I have found evidence of neither.
