In the 1853 Griffith’s Valuation, 107 acres of land at Kilmacanerla North were recorded as the property of Wm. H. Franks. He, in turn, rented this land to James and Timothy O’Shea. It is possible that this Timothy was the son of Thomas O’Shea and Bridget Storin, though further confirmation would be needed.
The land itself contained five houses, each occupied as follows:
-
House 1: James O’Shea’s residence.
-
House 2: Rented by James to Patrick Conway.
-
House 3: Also rented by James, this time to Edmond Kerr.
-
House 4: The home of Timothy O’Shea.
-
House 5: Rented by Timothy to John Shea.
